Founding members

The founding members of Hatemalo have long been engaged in one way or another in developmental cooperation. Hatemalo received the legal status of a recognised charity at the beginning of 2009. Our main office is located in Bonn, the former German capital. Currently, ten official members and many more supporters volunteer for the charity.

Katharina Tomoff

President
Psychologist

Katharina has studied in Freiburg and Galway and now lives in Bonn. During her studies she has completed training in systemic counseling. She first got in contact with developmental cooperation during an internship with the German Developmental Service. Four years later she spent several months in Nepal volunteering as a development worker. Today she leads the GoGreen department of Deutsche Post DHL.

Nicole Biener

Business economist

Nicole lives in Munich. She studied International Business Administration with a focus on Strategy and Marketing/ Communications in Reutlingen, Copenhagen and Reims and holds a German-French double degree. Last year she supported our charity work for 4 weeks onsite in Nepal. She currently works as a project manager for marketing and sales topics at a large international consumer goods company.

Dr. Martin Bruder

Social psychologist

Martin has completed his Ph. D. on the nonverbal communication of emotions in Cambridge. He is now at the University of Konstanz and does research on the role of emotions in moral and economic decisions.

Sabine Ehret

Teacher

After completing secondary school, Sabine studied in Paris for one year and then continued her studies in Freiburg to become a teacher. She is now based in Freiburg and teaches primary and secondary school children.

Alina Gause

Psychologist, singer, actress

Alina was born in Berlin. There she was trained as an actress, singer, and dancer. She performed at various theatres, on a number of opera and musical stages (e.g., Maxim-Gorki-Theatre Berlin, Theater des Westens Berlin, Neuköllner Oper, Berlin), but also in movie and TV productions. On the basis of her onstage experience she has been developing and performing her solo shows for 15 years. Next to her continuing work as a performer (under the name Alina Lieske), Alina has completed her psychology studies and specialised in the psychological counselling of artists. She has two sons.

Michael Lüdeke

Psychologist

Michael lives in Bonn. He studied psychology in Göttingen, Aachen, and Galway. In 2006 he volunteered for two months as a development worker in Nepal. It was there that he got to know the director and the projects of the Esther Benjamins Trust, a charity with which we cooperate closely. He now works as a project leader and consultant for personnel selection and personnel development. The central areas of his work are assessment, personnel management, selection,coaching and development; and organizational consulting. Daniela Meiser

Psychologist

Daniela lives in Freiburg. She studied psychology in Würzburg, Freiburg, and Cardiff and completed additional training in systemic counseling and mediation. She works as a project leader, trainer, and consultant for executives and specialists from emerging and developing countries in the area of international development cooperation. The focus of her work is in the area of international management competence, intercultural communication, project evaluation, and organizational development.
